Request For Proposals - Marketing Services

Spartanburg County Public Libraries (SCPL) is seeking proposals from marketing firms for a redesign of the Libraries’ logo and a comprehensive evaluation of our identity and brand. Proposals will be received in the Administrative Offices at the Headquarters Library address listed below, until 11:00 am EDT, August 24, 2010. The Library is not responsible for proposals left at public service desks. Proposals may not be faxed. Hours for the Administrative Offices on the upper level are Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00.

Please join us Saturday, July 31, as we welcome author Elizabeth Berg to the Headquarters Library at 2:00 p.m. for the summer series finale. Berg is the author of over 20 novels including Open House, an Oprah Book Club selection. Books available for purchase and signing following event.

Teen PhotoBook 2010

Photobook is a project where 50 Spartanburg County teens are each given a camera and asked to photograph Spartanburg as they see it. Visit the teen blog to learn more, then click on the logo to request a camera!

Exhibit: White House Garden

This exhibit is now open in the at&t exhibit gallery on the lower level of the Spartanburg County Public Libraries Headquarters through August 29, 2010. Organized with the White House Historical Association, The White House Garden traces the development of the gardens and grounds from the plans of Pierre Charles L’Enfant to the present. The White House Garden was developed and supported by the White House Historical Association (www.whha.org) and organized for travel by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (www.sites.si.edu).

Teen Art Contest - Subject:Water


Teens at the Woodruff Library are encouraged to create visual art dealing with water beginning May 28, 2010 and entries will be accepted through July 31, 2010. For example, you could design your own sea monster, ship, stormy scene, beach, beach house, etc. Prizes will be given.
